The Lebanese Interior Minister, Bassam Mawlawi, announced today, Monday, the arrest of 17 Israeli spy networks in the country.

The Lebanese Prime Minister, Naguib Mikati, chaired a cabinet session in the Grand Serail to complete the study of the draft budget law for the year 2022, and the discussion will be completed in two successive sessions to be held next Wednesday.

After the session ended, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Acting Information Minister, Judge Abbas Al-Halabi, revealed that "the Minister of Interior Bassam Mawlawi briefed the council on the seizure of 17 spy networks for the benefit of the Israeli enemy, and it was found that the role of these networks is local and regional."

On the other hand, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, praised "the qualitative achievement made by the Lebanese security forces, especially the Information Division," by exposing a spy network working for Israel inside Lebanon.

For its part, the "Amal" movement warned in a statement of "the danger of security exposure and the Israeli security cells and their auxiliary groups that target the security and stability of Lebanon."
