Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health has reported that an Israeli aerial attack in the southern Lebanese area resulted in civilian casualties, highlighting ongoing tensions along the Lebanon–Israel border.

According to an official statement from the health ministry, the strike targeted a location near the Briquea region in southern Lebanon, injuring two people. The attack occurred amid continued military activity in the area despite an existing ceasefire agreement intended to reduce hostilities.

The wounded individuals were transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Health officials emphasized concerns over the impact of such strikes on civilians living in border communities, underscoring the broader humanitarian implications of repeated cross-border military operations.

The Lebanese authorities reiterated calls for restraint and urged all parties to respect ceasefire understandings in order to prevent further civilian harm. The incident reflects the fragile nature of security in southern Lebanon, where sporadic clashes and military operations have continued to affect daily life and safety for residents.

The ministry’s announcement comes amid heightened alert in border towns, with emergency services and local hospitals on standby to respond to potential future incidents. Local leaders also appealed for international support to ensure the protection of civilians and to facilitate dialogue aimed at lasting stability.
