The Commander of the Lebanese Army General Joseph Aoun visited a number of border posts in Ras Baalbek and Al-Qaa, accompanied by the well-famed singer Magda Al-Roumi.
This comes on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the "Dawn of the Jroud" battle launched by the Lebanese army in August 2017 to liberate the barren areas of Ras Baalbek, Al-Qaa and Al-Fakhma in eastern Lebanon from ISIS terrorists.
It is worth noting that Jroud means precipitous hills in the Lebanese dialect.
General Aoun also delivered a speech in which he praised the sacrifices made by the military, especially in light of the complexity of the tasks they perform in conjunction with stifling economic and living crises.
He called for steadfastness in this ordeal that the country is going through of faith in Lebanon and to stand by the citizens who trust them.
Aoun also praised the soldiers' performance and commitment to the tasks required of them with professionalism and discipline despite the difficult and stressful conditions they live in.
He inaugurated a number of roads that form a link between the border military posts in the areas of Ras Baalbek and al-Qaa, from which the farmers of the area also benefit. He also laid the foundation stone for the military police station in the town of Ras Baalbek.
Aoun also inaugurated the "Fajr of Liberation Monument", and laid the foundation stone for a center affiliated with the Intelligence Directorate in the town of Al-Qaa, in the presence of the region's activities.
On her part, the singer, Magda Al Roumi, praised the role of the army, especially in this delicate and sensitive stage.
She addressed the soldiers by saying: "You are our hope and all bet is on you, the sacred soil of Lebanon swears by your name, we know that you are facing difficult circumstances, but you were and will remain the protectors of Lebanon.
