French Foreign Minister (FM) Jean-Yves Le Drian stressed that the war in Ukraine could last for several years, pointing out that France only provides weapons, but it is not a party to this conflict, according to Russia Today (RT).

In press remarks, the French FM added that the conflict will be 'long' and 'complex'.

Moreover, Le Drian underlined the importance of continuing the Russian-Ukrainian talks, stressing that a ceasefire is necessary for the sake of dialogue.

It is worth mentioning that, the Russian-Ukrainian war has entered its second month as thousands of soldiers from both sides have been killed and millions have been displaced from the Ukrainian side since the start of Russian operations in Ukrainian territory on February 24.

Several countries have imposed significant economic sanctions on Moscow, while Russia has responded by imposing personal sanctions on a number of American and Canadian leaders.
