Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone conversation on Monday with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan, focusing on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and reviewing the latest developments in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
According to a statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry and reported by Sputnik News Agency, the two top diplomats underscored the importance of maintaining a high-level political dialogue between Moscow and Riyadh.
Both sides agreed on the need to expand joint work in areas including trade, economy, investment, culture, and humanitarian cooperation.
The statement added that Lavrov and bin Farhan also exchanged views on several pressing international and regional issues, with a particular emphasis on the situation in Palestine and the broader Middle East.
The call highlights Russia and Saudi Arabia’s continued coordination on regional security matters and their mutual interest in supporting stability in the Palestinian-Israeli arena.
