Russian Foreign Minister (FM) Sergey Lavrov stated on Wednesday that relations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump are "good," but accused Europe of attempting to undermine them.

In statements reported by the Russian news agency Sputnik, Lavrov emphasized that a mutual understanding was reached during the Russia-U.S. summit held in Anchorage, "Alaska 2025."

He noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders are seeking to "sabotage" the relationship between Trump and Putin.

"This rapprochement and mutual respect help in reaching an understanding," Lavrov said, adding that while mutual ground was established at the Alaska 2025 summit, Zelensky and Western nations are intent on disrupting it.

The Russian and American presidents had previously discussed ways to resolve the Ukrainian conflict during their meeting in Alaska on August 15.
