Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov asserted that Israel has violated a large number of UN Security Council and General Assembly resolutions stipulating the need to establish a Palestinian state as the basis for a comprehensive settlement in the Middle East.
Lavrov, as reported by the Russian news agency Sputnik on Monday, pointed out that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government categorically reject the idea of establishing a Palestinian state, adding that the peace plan put forward by US President Donald Trump is facing accusations of violating its terms from both the Israeli side and Hamas, which puts the future of its implementation in doubt.
