Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres discussed the situation in the Middle East, Ukraine and the grain deal.
In a statment, Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Lavrov also discussed with Guterres the situation in Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan, as well as cooperation between Moscow and the United Nations and the implementation of the Black Sea Initiative.
Moreover, Lavrov renewed, in detail, the root causes of the current Ukrainian crisis, and the course and objectives of the special military operation that focuses on eliminating threats to Russia's national security.
He also noted that Russian Foreign Minister strongly criticized Western countries for using the United Nations program to promote politicized anti-Russian initiatives.
In a statement to reporters after the meeting, Lavrov said that he had received a message from Guterres containing some ideas to fully implement the grain deal.
