Russian Foreign Minister (FM) Sergey Lavrov and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, discussed, on Monday, the Ukrainian crisis over phone.
During the phone call, both senior officials discussed a number of key regional issues, including the Ukrainian crisis, according to TASS news agency.
It is worth mentioning that, Chinese Special Representative for Eurasian Affairs and former Beijing Ambassador to Russia Li Hui conveyed, during the Jeddah conference, Beijing's position on settling the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
Moreover, he made a tour last May that included six European capitals to reach common ground on a political settlement to end the conflict, stressing that China will continue to promote dialogue based on its 12-point peace proposal, and work to "consolidate mutual trust," without going into specific details.
It is worth noting that Beijing had refused to condemn the Russian military operation in Ukraine in February 2022, and put forward a peace plan, which was met with lukewarmness on the part of Ukraine.
