Launching Ceremony of Dakar as the OIC City of Tourism for 2025

In line with the relevant Resolution of the 12th Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers, which selected Dakar, the capital of Senegal, as the OIC City of Tourism for 2025, the Government of the Republic of Senegal organized the Launching Ceremony of Dakar as the OIC City of Tourism for 2025, in Dakar, Senegal.

The launching Ceremony was inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. Mountaga DIAO, Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts of the Republic of Senegal. The occasion was also attended by the officials of the Dakar City and the Republic of Senegal and the representatives of the diplomatic missions in Dakar. The representatives of OIC institutions also attended the event.

At the ceremony, a message by His Excellency, Mr. Brahim Hissein Taha, the OIC Secretary-General, was delivered by Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Director General of Statistical, Economic, and Social Research and Training Center for Islamic Countries (SESRIC). In his message, the Secretary-General congratulated the Government and people of the Republic of Senegal on this well-deserved award to the City of Dakar and expressed his hope that the various programmes and activities lined up for the celebration of the OIC City of Tourism in 2025 would be significant in strengthening Senegal’s endeavor as a desired destination for travel.
