The Ministry of Health in Latvia, one of the three Baltic states, announced the suspension of vaccination against Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) in the country,

And the Latvian Public Broadcasting Network quoted today, Friday, the ministry as saying - “69 percent of the Latvian population has completed the vaccination, but the elderly are the greatest source of concern, especially that nearly 100,000 did not receive any doses against Corona so far.

Last week, an average of 687 people were vaccinated per day, most of whom received booster doses.

Last spring, when active vaccination began, numbers were more than 15,000 per day, but there are currently about 500,000 people who have not received any doses.

"A lot of people are currently sick with COVID, they have just recovered, and epidemiological safety rules have been lifted," said Eva Johovich, head of the ministry's vaccination campaign department.
