The Assistant is an American drama movie that was produced in 2019. It had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival on August 30, afterward, Bleecker Street acquired distribution rights to the movie.
The plot revolves around a young female graduate who enters a film production company, she slowly understands the shady field she entered.
It scored 85% from Rotten Tomatoes, 5.9/10 from IMDb, and 76% from Metacritic.

The movie comes at the time of the "Me Too" movement, which is a movement raised against sexual harassment and sexual assault. The phrase "Me Too" was initially used in this context on social media in 2006, on Myspace, by sexual harassment survivor and activist Tarana Burke.
