Joker is a gripping American psychological thriller movie that was produced in 2019. It was based on the origin story of DC Comics' character, the Joker.

The movie was premiered at the 76th Venice International Film Festival on August 31, 2019, where it won the Golden Lion award.

The plot revolves around Arthur Fleck, a man who is struggling to find his way in Gotham's fractured society. A clown-for-hire by day; he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night, however, it always seems that he is the punch line. Fleck makes a bad decision that brings about a chain reaction of escalating events.

The movie has grossed over $1 billion, making it the first R-rated film to do so, the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2019, and the 32nd-highest-grossing film of all time.

It received numerous accolades, including nominated for 11 Oscar Awards at this year's Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, in which Best Actor award went to Joaquin Phoenix and Best Original Score for went to Hildur Guðnadóttir.

It scored 68% from Rotten Tomatoes, 8.6/10 from IMDb, and 59% from Metacritic, while 92% of google users liked it.
