Latakia and Tartous have witnessed a return to calm and stability following intense clashes that left significant casualties among Syrian citizens.

The Syrian presidency has responded by forming an independent national committee to investigate the violent events that struck the coastal region, according to Khalil Hamlo, a correspondent for Al-Qahira News.

In a phone interview with the channel, Hamlo confirmed that the Syrian Ministry of Defense has implemented security measures to stabilize the two governorates after days of unrest. These efforts have contributed to restoring a sense of normalcy to the affected areas.

The journalist further reported that a large number of displaced residents are now returning to their homes, with heavily loaded vehicles seen making their way back into the cities.

Moreover, many businesses, which had been forced to shut down due to the severity of the conflict, have begun reopening, signaling a slow but hopeful recovery for the region.

The recent violence, marked by approximately 14 reported massacres, resulted in heavy losses, prompting swift government action to contain the situation. While tensions have subsided, authorities continue to monitor developments closely to prevent further escalation.
