CAIRO, April 2 (SEE)- The 82-Year-Old Algeria's President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has finally submitted his resignation today to the constitutional council.

This took place after the Algeria's army chief of staff demanded an immediate constitutional procedure to remove him from office.

Subsequently, Bouteflika announced that his decision was made in order to settle the raging fire in Algiers.

“I’m looking forward to promoting national unity, independence, development and national reconciliation,” he added.

Tonight, people are more likely to stay celebrating this occasion in Algiers’ streets.

It’s worth mentioning that thousands of Algerians have been flooding the streets since February 22 to demonstrate against Bouteflika's announcement to seek a fifth term.
