CAIRO, Feb. 23 (SEE) – European Union Ambassador
to Egypt Ivan Surkos arrived in Sharm El-Sheikh city to attend the Arab-European
Summit on Sunday, according to a six-second video that he shot by himself.
"Flying over Sinai on my way to Sharm
el-Sheikh to attend EU- League of Arab States summit," Surkos tweeted.
In a previous tweet, Surkos stressed that European
countries are interested in enhancing relations with Arab League of States
(LAS).
Surkos revealed that 24 presidents and prime
ministers out of 28 EU member states will attend the Arab-European Summit,
scheduled to take place next week in Sharm El-Sheikh resort city.
The Arab-European Summit is also known as LAS-EU
Summit. LAS stands for the League of the Arab States, while EU stands for the
European Union.
On Saturday, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz
Al-Saud arrived in Sharm El-Sheikh resort city, Egypt, with a high-ranking
Saudi delegation on an official visit to participate in the LAS-EU summit to be
held from February 24 to 25, Saudi News Agency, SPA, reported.

The summit will be co-chaired by President Abdel
Fatah El-Sisi and President of the European Council Donald Tusk.
Sisi received King Salman by himself at Sharm El-Sheikh airport, and this showed how close relations and appreciation that the Egyptian president has to the Saudi King.
The participants will discuss mutual challenges and boost bilateral cooperation opportunities.
This is the first ever platform that brings
together the Arab and European heads of state and government to tackle the
pressing issues, atop of which terrorism, organized crime and illegal
immigration.
