Amid Coronavirus pandemic, American pop superstar Lady Gaga has offered her Little Monsters across the globe a new beacon of light, which arrives in the form of her new album, “Chromatica”.
Little Monsters, the time has come. After being rescheduled from its original April 10 release date due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), Lady Gaga's new album, “Chromatica” has finally arrived on Friday.
The album contains 16 tracks, which witnesses the singer's return to pop, seven years from her third studio "Artpop" hit the world.
Chromatica is filled with synth-filled, dancey tunes which were witnessed in her previously released singles such as "Stupid Love," "Rain on Me" with pop superstar Ariana Grande and "Sour Candy" with K-pop girl group Blackpink.
On top of those high-profile collaborations, the album also features a duet with Sir Elton John titled “Sine From Above.”.
The album also features many collaborations with producers such as BloodPop and Tchami, who she has worked with before, as well as with Max Martin, Sophie, Justin Tranter, and Boyz Noise.
Lady Gaga was forced to postpone the release of her sixth studio album, which was slated to arrive on April 10, due to Coronavirus.
Gaga was also forced to postpone her Vegas shows at MGM, which was set for late April and early May.
“Chromatica” will be her first studio release since 2016’s “Joanne.”
Gaga announced the news on Instagram in a lengthy statement, saying: “This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic.”
Lady Gaga, Blackpink, and #BlackLivesMatter
Lady Gaga and Blackpink released their highly-anticipated single "Sour Candy," on May 28. Usually, when new music released from the artists, their fans coordinated to stream the song and trend related hashtags, as well as promote it as much as possible.
As#SourCandy trended worldwide, many Blackpink fans (called Blinks) organized to keep track of trending online out of respect for the #BlackLivesMatter movement and encouraged people not to use the hashtag and instead to support the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag.

Social media users are showing support for the #BlackLivesMatter movement while speaking out against the death of George Floyd, who died after a now-fired Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck for nearly eight minutes.
Those demands have also crossed over to social media as well, with people rallying behind hashtags like #minneapolisriots and other phrases like "Minneapolis Freedom Fund" trending on Twitter.
