The Kyrgyzstani Military Authorities announced a curfew in the capital city Bishkek due to the heightened security situation over the last few days.
An official statement was posted on the Bishkek’s official page stating the imposing of the curfew from 8 pm and till 5 am.
The statement pointed out that the curfew is imposed in order to prohibit meetings, gatherings, marches, and demonstrations as well as the sports showings and any social gatherings.
The curfew came as a result of the rage wave that hit after the announcement of the parliament elections results.
It is also worthy to note that the former Kyrgyzstani president Almazbek Atambayev was arrested along with two of his guards for organizing mass riots in the capital Bishkek.
It was also rumored that Atambayev’s wife Raisa Atambayeva and his sons Khadyrbek and Seyit were also arrested but that was later denied by the national security committee.
