Kuwait welcomed the announcement by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer of his country's intention to officially recognize the sisterly State of Palestine and its support for the two-state solution.
According to a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, the State of Kuwait commended this important step, which will contribute to achieving the provisions of relevant Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative regarding empowering the Palestinian people to achieve self-determination and establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Kuwait stressed the need for other countries to take similar steps to find a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
