Kuwait: Sheikh Meshal Sworn-in as New Crown Prince

This morning, Kuwaiti's Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah sworn in before the National Assembly as new crown prince.

In a meeting held earlier today, Kuwaiti National Assembly Unanimously approved the appointment of Sheikh Meshal in this post.

Worth mentioning that the new Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah nominated yesterday Sheikh Meshal as his crown prince.

According to the Kuwaiti constitution, the Emir’s nomination for crown prince must be approved by the National Assembly.

 Sheikh Meshal, the deputy chief of the National Guard, is seen by diplomats and Kuwait experts as the top contender for the position.
