Kuwait has reported on Tuesday 78 new Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 743.
In a press conference, Kuwaiti health ministry spokesman Abdallah El-Sanad said that the new cases include 69 linked to contact with infected patients, and nine others are still under investigation.
He added that 637 patients are still receiving treatment, including 23 in ICU.
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Minister of Health Bassel Al-Sabah announced the recovery of two patients from the coronavirus, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 105.
It is worth mentioning that, last Tuesday, Kuwait took a package of new measures to advance economic activity amid the emerging crisis of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Several Arab countries have tightened restrictions on movement and travel, with the aim of curbing the spread of the Coronavirus, and some have pledged billions of dollars in economic stimulus programs to reduce the economic repercussions of the crisis.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 121,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.
More cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease COVID-19, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.
