Kuwait has established a $100 million emergency fund to accelerate repairs to critical infrastructure following damage caused by regional military tensions, according to the country's Foreign Ministry.
The fund is designed to provide rapid access to state financing for restoring strategic facilities affected by armed conflict or other emergencies, reducing delays in responding to future crises.
Officials said the initiative was shaped by Kuwait's experience during the recent confrontation between Iran and the United States, when authorities were required to respond swiftly to infrastructure damage caused by Iranian missile and drone attacks.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Iran launched 13 ballistic missiles and 17 attack drones towards Kuwaiti territory in early June. The government had previously reported additional Iranian strikes carried out in response to US military action against the Islamic Republic.
The creation of the fund reflects Kuwait's broader efforts to strengthen national resilience and emergency preparedness amid heightened security risks across the Gulf region.
