The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that the country’s air defense forces successfully intercepted several ballistic missiles targeting Ali Al Salem Air Base, amid escalating regional tensions linked to Iranian attacks across the Gulf.
According to the official Kuwait News Agency, Defense Ministry spokesperson Col. Saud Al-Otaibi said the interception resulted in debris falling in the vicinity of the base, with no reported casualties.
The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces reaffirmed that the military continues to carry out its duties to defend Kuwait’s sovereignty and confront any threats to the country’s security and stability in line with established defense plans and procedures.
The development comes as several Gulf states, including the United Arab Emirates, reported intercepting Iranian missile attacks, prompting widespread regional condemnation and raising concerns over further escalation that could undermine stability across the region.
