The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy in Kuwait, Engineer Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat, announced the completion of repairs to several power transmission lines damaged by falling debris early Tuesday morning, March 24, 2026. This comes as part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to maintain the stability of the electrical grid and ensure the continuity of electricity supply to customers.
In a statement, she explained that repairs to most of the damaged overhead lines have been completed, with four out of seven lines now back in service. This was achieved in accordance with the highest approved technical standards and safety procedures, following the completion of technical inspections and assessments.
She added that all repair and safety work was carried out efficiently and effectively according to the approved emergency plan. On-site monitoring and necessary technical inspections are ongoing to verify the integrity of the electrical grid components, enhance its readiness, and increase its reliability across all regions.
