Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation agreed on Saturday on the resumption of direct flights to Egypt, Kuwaiti media sources said on Saturday.

In this regard, Head of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Yousef Sulaiman Al Fouzan said the authority agreed on the requests of EgyptAir, Kuwait Airways, and Jazeera Airways to transfer passengers from Kuwait to Egypt.

Fouzan told Al Rai newspaper of Kuwait that the number of passengers who will head for Egypt will not exceed 600 per day.

Moreover, the directorate sent an official letter to EgyptAir that it does not mind resuming direct flights to Egypt.

As a first step, direct return flights to Egypt will be operated under the COVID-19 precautionary measures.

The sources anticipated that both Egypt and Kuwait will coordinate to set a date for flights' resumption in the coming days.
