The KSA will host an extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh, on Saturday.
Riyadh was supposed to host two separate summits for the League of Arab States, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, however, the KSA decided to hold both summits jointly.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry said that the summit “will be held in response to the exceptional circumstances taking place in the Palestinian Gaza Strip as countries feel the need to unify efforts and come out with a unified collective position."
The decision was taken after consultations with the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, according to the statement.
The emergency event comes amid further military escalations by the Israeli forces in Gaza.
