In a step intended to encourage foreign workers to skimp on their public efforts and sociable responsibility, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has approved a new law that grants citizenship to highly skilled foreigners in the Sharia, legal, medical, scientific, cultural, sport, and technical fields.

The royal decree aims at achieving the KSA Vision 2030 goal to create an environment that will attract and retain "exceptional creative minds" to the Middle East country as the nation moves away from dependence on oil, according to the Saudi media.

Saudi citizenship will be "granted" to a "limited number" of professional and efficient people and it "will be through nomination based purely on public interest and there won’t be any option to submit, the domestic media revealed. It's also expected that they will be fast-tracked for naturalization for “showing their attachment to the nation.”
