The Kremlin has warned of serious repercussions for the global economy stemming from the ongoing war involving Iran, as Russian officials described the situation in the Middle East as increasingly volatile and “reckless.”

In a statement, the Kremlin cautioned that continued escalation in the conflict could have far-reaching economic consequences worldwide, particularly amid already fragile energy markets and supply chains.

The Russian presidency’s spokesperson characterized the regional situation as “extremely reckless,” noting that the intensity and geographic scope of the conflict are expanding rapidly.

Moscow said its earlier warnings about the potential for widespread instability in the Middle East are now materializing. Russian officials had previously cautioned that military escalation would trigger a wave of chaos extending beyond the region, affecting global stability.

The Kremlin also reiterated its stance that the United States bears responsibility for the current escalation, arguing that Washington has played a central role in fueling the crisis. Russian officials said that if the U.S. seeks to restore stability, it must halt military operations immediately and return to serious negotiations.

Moscow emphasized that it continues to advocate for diplomatic solutions, framing negotiations as the only viable path to de-escalation. At the same time, Russian officials suggested that the use of ultimatums has proven ineffective, both in dealing with Russia and in the case of Iran.

The remarks come amid growing international concern that the conflict could further disrupt global energy supplies and deepen economic uncertainty, particularly as tensions continue to rise across multiple fronts in the Middle East.
