Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov refuted reports that Russia allegedly steals grain from Ukraine, calling the allegations 'fake news'.
Media outlets reported that Moscow steals grain from Ukraine, transporting it on trucks.
"No, we do not have such information; it rather looks like fake news, and it is fake news," Peskov said."I do not know who exactly said this in the UN, but obviously, they didn’t bother to check this information."
Last week, Ukraine's deputy agriculture minister, Taras Vysotskiy, said that Russian invading forces had stolen "several hundred thousand tons" of grain from the country's occupied territories.
Vysotskiy also noted that there is definite information that hundreds of thousands of tons of grain were removed out of the Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk areas.
On his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Russian forces targetted the warehouses of the agricultural firms and that the grain storage facility was completely destroyed, according to media reports.
