Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday, that NATO is a "confrontation machine", noting that Russia does not recognize the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Moreover, Peskov added that Russia would only use nuclear weapons if it faces an "existential threat," stressing that Russian forces do not target civilians and residential neighborhoods in Ukraine.

On Monday, the Kremlin considered US President Joe Biden's comments that Vladimir Putin "cannot remain in power" as a cause for alarm.

"The new US president's statement about Putin is, of course, alarming," Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"We will continue to monitor the statements of the US president with the utmost attention. We are recording them carefully and will continue to do so," Peskov added.

It is worth mentioning that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Sunday that the US has no plans for regime change in Russia.

This came after US President Joe Biden's remarks about the Russian President.

“I think the president made the point last night. Quite simply, President Putin cannot be authorized to wage war or attack Ukraine or anyone else,” Blinken said during a visit to Jerusalem.

“And as you know, as you’ve heard us say over and over, we don’t have any strategy for regime change in Russia or anywhere else,” the US Secretary of State continued.
