The Kremlin said Russian President Vladimir Putin told U.S. President Donald Trump that an alleged Ukrainian attack on the Russian presidential headquarters would not go unanswered.
In a statement, the Kremlin said Putin emphasized during talks with Trump that the attack attributed to Kyiv represents a serious escalation and would prompt a response from Moscow.
The Kremlin also quoted Trump as saying that the alleged attempt to target Putin’s residence would affect Washington’s approach toward Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, signaling a potential shift in U.S. policy.
Ukraine has denied any involvement in the alleged attack, with President Zelenskyy accusing Russia of fabricating claims to sabotage diplomatic efforts between Kyiv and Washington.
The exchange underscores growing uncertainty surrounding international mediation efforts, as tensions rise over competing narratives of recent events.
