Kremlin announced on Wednesday that President Vladimir Putin will receive "in the near future" a delegation of African leaders to discuss the African peace initiative.
In press statment, the Kremlin added that Putin had a telephone conversation with his South African counterpart Cyril Rama Foza, during which they discussed current issues related to the further development of the bilateral strategic partnership between both countries, and African initiative to solve Ukrainian crisis.
"It was agreed that President Vladimir Putin will receive a delegation of a number of African heads of state in the near future," the statement read.
The two presidents also discussed the preparations for the 2nd Russian-African summit scheduled to be held at the end of July in St. Petersburg, and the next BRICS summit scheduled to be held in Johannesburg next August.
They also expressed their intention to continue mutual coordination of the participation of Russia and Africa in various international platforms.
