On Monday, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen made a surprise visit to Kiev to reaffirm US support for Ukraine in its war againest Russia.
Yellen met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other key government officials just days into the second year of the war, and reiterated US assurances made by President Joe Biden a week ago in Kiev.
"US will stand by Ukraine no matter what it takes," Yellen said at the Ukrainian Prime Minister's office, Denise Shmyhal.
Yellen announced the transfer of $1.25 billion to Ukraine as part of the $9.9 billion US economic aid package.
