Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday that Moscow remains open to a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis.
"Russia is continuing its military operation," Peskov said, in remarks reported by the Russian news agency Sputnik. "The doors are open for a peaceful solution, and Russia remains open."
When asked about the start date of the trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi, he said, "Work will begin today."
Regarding Russia's position on the situation in Ukraine, he explained, "Our position is perfectly clear and is well understood by the Kyiv regime, as well as by the American negotiators who are providing their good offices in organizing these trilateral talks, and to whom we express our gratitude for their efforts."
