Russian news agency TASS reported that the last official communication between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin took place on July 23, 2020.
This report, sourced from the Kremlin's official website, was issued in response to a claim published by the American newspaper New York Post, in which Trump stated that he had discussed a resolution to the Ukraine conflict with Putin over the phone.
Meanwhile, US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz said he could neither confirm nor deny whether Trump had a phone conversation with the Russian president.
When asked about the alleged call in an interview with NBC News, Waltz responded, "There are certainly many sensitive discussions taking place."
