Demitri Peskov, spokesman for the Kremlin, headquarters of the Russian presidency, said that both Russia and Belarus seek to achieve more integration between them as possible to attain the interests of the two countries.

He denies claims on merging Russia and Belarus.

Peskov assured over an interview with "Aurgumenti E Facti", a Russian-spoken newspaper, that there no accords related to merging the two countries in a unified state.

He pointed out that the treaty of unification between Russia and Belarus stated a number of steps to deepen the integration as governments of the two countries drew a number of road maps that suggest additional measures in that direction.

The spokesman of the Kremlin went on to say that there is no talk about merging Russia and Belarus but both parties are more convinced that deep integration achieves the interests of populations of them together.

He commented on the internal situation in Belarus by saying that Russia did not intervene and had plans to do that.

It is worth noting that the opposition in Belarus did not recognize the results of the presidential election held in Belarus in August 2020.

Peskov stressed that Russia stands firmly with the people of Belarus as the Russians and Belarusians are exactly one people.

He revealed the President Alexander Lukashenka of Belarus spoke publically about plans to introduce constitutional reforms in the country and there are expectations at the field but drawing the path of these reforms in an internal Belarus affair.

Last September, Putin, and   Lukashenko, according to Peskov,    began their talks in Sochi, a Russian resort on the Black Sea.

Peskov indicated that the meeting has no scheduled time limits.

The two leaders seek then to merge their countries into a unified state with one army.

Putin and his guest will hold a "face to face" meeting to discuss the pivotal aspects of the development of relations between the two allied countries, and the strategic partnership between them.
