Korean Cultural Center Hosts Introductory Seminar on Study & Life in Korea

With the aim of transferring experiences to the winners of the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS), the Korean Cultural Center hosted an introductory seminar on the study system at Korean universities and the benefits of scholarships in South Korea.

Members of the Korean Universities Alumni Association in Egypt participated in the seminar, as well as the students who win the Scholarships this year.

Oh Sung-ho, Director of the Korean Cultural Center, said that the GKS scholarship program run by the National Institute for International Education Development (NIIED) has provided master's and doctoral scholarships to 10 Egyptian students in various disciplines.

He stressed that providing scholarships to Egyptian students to study in Korea, whether at university or master's and doctoral levels, will contribute to promoting educational and cultural exchange as well as strengthening the bonds of friendship between the Korean and Egyptian peoples.

The director of the Korean Cultural Center praised the role of Korean university graduates in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

“Egyptian students studying in Korea will serve in fact as cultural ambassadors who will promote the intercultural understanding between the peoples of the two countries”, he added.

During the seminar, Dr. Ayman Atef, a Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Zagazig University, transferred his experience of studying in Korea, while Sherin Emara, Assistant Professor in the Korean language department at Ain Shams University, addressed cultural differences and lifestyle in Korea.

As well, an open panel discussion held in which former Korean university graduates answered all questions of the GKS winners.
