In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Egypt, the Korea Music Caravan will hold two special concerts—on August 26 at AUC’s Ewart Memorial Hall in Cairo, and on August 28 at Al-Anfushi Cultural Palace in Alexandria.

Under the theme “From Tradition to Global,” the concerts will showcase the rich diversity of Korean music, featuring a vibrant blend of traditional Korean music and, folk songs. Audiences will experience the distinctive charm of Korean musical heritage through solo and ensemble performances, highlighting the unique sounds of traditional Korean instruments and dynamic modern choreography.

The Korea Music Caravan is part of the 2025 "Touring K-Arts" project, hosted by Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and organized by the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE), in cooperation with the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt and Dong-A Ilbo newspaper. The event underscores the deep and enduring cultural ties between the two nations.

The Caravan features a talented group of young and emerging Korean artists. Through the music, the Caravan aims to foster mutual understanding and deepen cultural exchange between the people of South Korea and Egypt.

The "Touring K-Arts" project is an initiative that supports the overseas tours of outstanding Korean cultural and artistic programs through Korean cultural centers and cultural promotion centers abroad. In 2025, the project aims to present a total of 45 programs across 34 countries, further reinforcing Korea's position as a global cultural hub.

On the sidelines of the concert in Alexandria, the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt will present a rich program offering a full Korean cultural experience. Visitors will enjoy an exhibition of traditional musical instruments, Korean film screening, introductory Korean language classes, and traditional handicrafts workshops.

Emphasizing the significance of the occasion, Director of the Korean Cultural Center, Oh Sungho stated that “Over the past 30 years, South Korea and Egypt have elevated their bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Cultural exchange remains a cornerstone of our friendly ties.”

He added, “Bringing the Korea Music Caravan to two major cities in Egypt reflects the power of music in bridging geographical and cultural divides.”
