A high-level delegation from the Export-Import Bank of South Korea (Korea Eximbank) discussed with Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat funding transport projects and other new development projects in the country over their visit to Egypt from 29 to 3 June.
In this regard, the Minister of International Cooperation reviewed the bank’s new projects in the sector of transportation that would be implemented in Egypt over the coming phase.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Ministry of International Cooperation, Mashat revealed: "Among the potential projects is an upgrade of the Luxor-Aswan railway signaling system."
Al-Mashat also expressed the Ministry’s keenness on cooperating with various Korean companies in the field of transferring modern technologies in Egypt, in line with the county’s development strategies.
It's worth mentioning that the giant bank has previously funded higher education, IT, and transport projects, and provided financing to Egyptian SMEs in 2019 as part of a USD 3 bn package pledged in 2016.
Eximbank is well-known as the largest South Korean corporation that introduces intelligence funds for development projects.
