The 2026 Korea Culture Week concluded yesterday at the stage of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, bringing to a close a vibrant week of artistic exchange and cultural dialogue between South Korea and Egypt.

The closing ceremony featured remarkable performances by students from the K-pop and Gugak academies, whose energetic and expressive presentations reflected their deep appreciation of Korean performing arts and culture.

The audience also warmly welcomed a special performance by the Al-Anamil El Sagheera troupe, which presented the renowned Korean folk song “Arirang” alongside a selection of well-known Egyptian musical pieces. The fusion created a distinctive cultural blend that highlighted the artistic harmony between the two traditions.

Oh Sung-ho, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt, said the success of the event reflects the strength of cultural ties between Egypt and Korea. He emphasized the important role of the arts in fostering intercultural dialogue and building bridges between peoples, while expressing his appreciation to the participating artists, students, and audiences whose enthusiasm contributed to the festival’s success.

Throughout the week, visitors experienced a diverse program showcasing the richness of Korean culture, with strong engagement from students and arts enthusiasts.

Key highlights included an outstanding performance by the Korean troupe Choori Art Company, which introduced audiences to dynamic traditional rhythms and performing arts, particularly the iconic Korean lion dance.

The program also featured exhibitions of traditional Korean masks with their vivid designs, Minhwa folk paintings, and Hanji paper artworks inspired by nature—offering visitors a deeper insight into Korea’s artistic heritage.

Korea Culture Week 2026 stands as another milestone in the growing cultural partnership between Egypt and South Korea, reinforcing the role of cultural exchange in strengthening mutual understanding and friendship.
