Renowned Egyptian jewelry designer Zainab Khalifa told SEE News about her successive efforts for establishing a specialized school for educating the arts of jewelry making industry.
Khalifa said: "The school is my main channel to defend the profession, and to create a new professional generation for the industry. But, I insist to build it inside Al Sagha district to attract young people who are interested in the industry and those dropouts of education."
However, she revealed that she is struggling with financing the project.
The designer explained: "I initiated the process of having the required approvals for starting the school. But, I am waiting for financial support. I submitted the project’s draft to the Ministry of Industry, and to Sawiras Foundation, but nobody responded until now."
Regarding the main reason for establishing the school, she expressed that she wants to train and create a new professional generation of designers and workers in the industry's disciplines.
