Production wrapped on Netflix's highly-anticipated “Knives Out 2".
Filmmaker Rian Johnson, who returned to writer and director of the sequel, announced Monday the news on Twitter.
“We just wrapped production on the next Benoit Blanc mystery,” Johnson tweeted.
“Knives Out 2” features Daniel Craig reprising his role as the clever private investigator Benoit Blanc.
The sequel also stars a completely new cast, which includes Ethan Hawke, Edward Norton, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Madelyn Cline, and Jessica Henwick.
The original movie, which had a budget of $40 million, grossed $311.5 million at the global box office.
A sequel was greenlighted in February 2020, with Johnson and co-producer Ram Bergman shopped around for a distributor for about a year. In March, Netflix bought the rights to “Knives Out 2” and “Knives Out 3” for over $450 million.
