The KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announced that it will resume direct flights to Cairo twice a week as of September 9.
The flights mark the first service of the Dutch airline to Egypt since 2017.
In a press statement, KLM noted that it has not stopped cargo transport between Amsterdam and Cairo with freighter aircraft, despite halting passenger flights.
'This announcement confirms KLM group keenness to reinforce its investment in Egypt, and to offer our Egyptian clients the best service," Matthieu Tetaud, General Manager Air France KLM Near East Region noted.
Flights to Cairo are scheduled for months of September and October.
At early September, a decision will be made regarding the continuation of flights to Cairo during the winter season.
