Fumio Kishida has been officially elected as the new Japanese Prime Minister (PM) after winning the majority of votes in both houses of parliament.
The new PM is set to dissolve parliament next week and call an election for October 31.
It is worth mentioning that, Kishida took over the new post, after the previous cabinet, led by Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, resigned.
