"Kira and Gin" Debuts with 26.5 MM at Egypt's Box Office This week

"Kira and Gin" movie hit the Egyptian cinemas during Eid Al Adha.

The film is currently on release in Egypt and the rest of the Arab world and crossed 26.5 million L.E at the box office this week, having received rave reviews.

The movie follows up a doctor named Ahmed Kira (Karim Abdel-Aziz) who tries to take his revenge on the English forces in Egypt after they hanged his father in Denshway village. Incidentally, he also met a guy named Gin (Ahmed Ezz) whose father was gunned down in cold blood by a cruel colonial in the British army during the 1919 revolution.

"Kira and Gin" sheds light on the strong continuous Egyptian resistance and fury state that was among the people in synchronization with the main events in Egypt, such as the backdrop of World War I and the Egyptian revolution of 1919 which unites the fates of Kira and Gin to take part in the struggle against the English occupation.

They decided together to fight against the British occupation of Egypt alongside Dawlat Fahmy (Egyptian- Tunisian Star Hend Sabry), the Christian teacher who has strong views on some social causes such as women’s rights and gender equality.

The movie is produced by the leading production company Synergy Film and directed by renowned young director Marwan Hamid.

The movie, which is based on Ahmed Mourad best-selling novel "1919",  featured a number of well-known stars, including Sayed Ragab, Ahmed Malek, Aly Kassem, Huda El Mufti, in addition to several other guests of honor like Ayad Nasar and foreign actors.
