As the war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continues in Sudan, drones targeted Port Sudan Airport.
About five suicide drones struck, on Sunday, the airport within half an hour, which suspended flights. Thick smoke was seen rising from the airport's vicinity, according to Al Arabiya/Al Hadath correspondent.
A source stated that there were no human casualties, but that there was a power outage in parts of the airport.
The RSF has recently intensified its attacks on military sites and vital facilities within areas controlled by the army using drones.
Meanwhile, the army, led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has made significant gains in the capital, Khartoum, over the past two months, seizing control of most important military and diplomatic sites and expelling the RSF from several centers. It has also advanced in many locations outside the capital.
However, the Rapid Support Forces affirmed that they would not surrender and intensified their attacks, particularly with drones.
It is worth noting that the ongoing war in Sudan since April 15, 2023, between the army and the Rapid Support Forces has led to a massive humanitarian disaster. The conflict has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and the displacement of more than 13 million people, both internally displaced and refugees, while several parts of the country have been plunged into famine.
