King Charles III has reportedly reunited with Prince Harry and his family during a private meeting at his country residence, marking the first time in years that the monarch has seen his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in person.
The meeting took place on Friday at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, where King Charles welcomed Harry, Meghan Markle, Archie, and Lilibet. Queen Camilla, whose private residence is located near Highgrove, was also present during the family gathering.
According to reports, seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet had not met their grandfather face-to-face since Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
The reunion is widely seen as an important step toward repairing relations between King Charles and Prince Harry following years of public tensions within the British royal family.
Harry and Meghan stepped back from their royal duties six years ago and later publicly criticized members of the royal family through interviews, a Netflix documentary, and Harry's memoir.
Observers believe reconciliation efforts began in February 2024 when Prince Harry made a brief trip from California to the United Kingdom after King Charles was diagnosed with cancer.
Harry had initially planned for Meghan and their children to accompany him to Britain for a week of charity engagements, including events linked to the Invictus Games. Although security concerns reportedly delayed their travel earlier, those issues were ultimately resolved, allowing the family to visit Highgrove for the private reunion.
