Jordan’s King Abdullah II has commended France’s opposition to the displacement of Palestinians during a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday.

The two leaders discussed the serious developments in Gaza and the West Bank.

King Abdullah reiterated Jordan’s firm rejection of any attempts to annex land or forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank, stressing the importance of ensuring Palestinians remain on their land.

According to a statement from the Royal Court, the Jordanian King emphasized the need to intensify international efforts to sustain a ceasefire in Gaza and strengthen humanitarian aid responses.

He also warned against Israeli settlement expansion, cautioning about the risks of escalating violence in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.

Abdullah II further called for effective efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
