King Abdullah II of Jordan has endorsed a significant reconfiguration of Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh's cabinet.

This move, formalized by a Royal Decree, has led to the introduction of several new ministers to pivotal roles within the government.

Among the new appointments are Raed Abu Soud as the head of Water and Irrigation, Wajih Azaizeh taking on the role of Minister of State, Ahmad Maher Abul Samen overseeing Public Works and Housing, and several others like Haditha Khraisha, Yousef Shamali, Nadia Rawabdeh, Wesam Tahtamouni, and Muhannad Mubaidin stepping into crucial ministerial roles.

This rejig arrives on the heels of several resignations from the ministerial ranks, in preparation for the anticipated cabinet modifications.

Notably, this marks the seventh time the cabinet has seen changes since its inception under Prime Minister Khasawneh in October 2020.

The timing of the reshuffle is also noteworthy, coinciding with the upcoming conclusion of the Jordanian parliament's last session, with its constitutional tenure set to wrap up by the coming summer.

During King Abdullah II's tenure, which commenced in 1999, Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh is the 13th individual to assume the role of the nation's premier.
