Khufu’s Restaurant has claimed the top spot as the Best Restaurant in the Middle East and North Africa for 2026, marking a landmark achievement for Egypt and underscoring the growing regional and international prominence of contemporary Egyptian cuisine.

Located within the iconic Giza Pyramids complex, Khufu’s offers a dining experience that blends the grandeur of ancient Egyptian history with a modern culinary vision.

The restaurant is celebrated for reinterpreting Egyptian flavors and Nile-inspired ingredients through refined techniques, high-quality sourcing, and innovative presentation.

The award-winning concept is led by Executive Chef Mostafa Seif, whose culinary philosophy bridges Egypt’s rural gastronomic roots with a contemporary approach. The restaurant operates under the Pier 88 Group, known for its high standards and professionalism in the hospitality sector.

This latest honor builds on Khufu’s rising global reputation, having previously been recognized in the One To Watch category within The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025. The new accolade firmly establishes the restaurant as one of the region’s leading culinary destinations.

Egypt also recorded a strong presence across the 2026 rankings, with several other restaurants featured on the list: Reif Kushiyaki Egypt ranked 20th, Zooba placed 23rd, Kazoku ranked 25th, and Sachi Cairo came in at 37th

The Middle East & North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants list celebrates outstanding dining destinations across 19 countries in the region.

Launched in 2022, the annual ranking is determined by votes from the 50 Best Restaurants Academy, a panel of 250 influential chefs, restaurateurs, food critics, and industry experts selected for their deep knowledge of the regional dining scene.

Khufu’s top ranking represents a moment of national pride and highlights Egypt’s emergence as a key player on the global culinary map, amid growing international interest in modern Egyptian cuisine.

The achievement stands as a testament to the talent and creativity driving Egypt’s evolving food scene.
